My new single A.W.O.L. is out floating around. To all my fans I just want to know what you think about the song. Let’s talk. Well I will tell you a little bit about A.W.O.L. It is an acronym for Away With Our Love. I figured it was a perfect since it was totally by accident. Whenever I get a thought about a name for a song I usually write it down. I just went back to my archive and felt like it fit the song. Awol sounded like it meant away or escape. So it hit me. I wanted it to be completely associated with the meaning of the song, so I made each letter stand for a word. The song is talking about feeling elated and free. Like love floats you to outer space. It makes you have no care in the world and this makes you feel so free that you want to follow that love and just leave everything you have. To leave and start this new life soaring through space and time. A line in the song “Lets go to the moon”, translate to a person allowing yourself to attempt the unthinkable and to believe that it is achievable. To be so free that you can say anything against popular belief and not feel crazy. What this line in the song means to you? Everything has different interpretations. I am interested in knowing your perspective on A.W.O.L.
Along with many new songs, today I finished a new song called Fatal Distraction. It is about a about wanting love, looking for it, finding it, then feeling captured in a good way. The song explains that even though this is the love that she’s looking for it will change her life. She will lose herself by accepting this love. She sees the danger of losing herself but she doesn’t care and even though it is fatal she feels like thats where she wants to be. This song has a house feel to it. A dance theme. Its a “I’ve been looking, I found, and I don’t care if it kills me, I’m falling in love” song. A truly encouraging message that lets you know to make room for another person to allow for love to prevail.
So I had a great night last night. I do recommend that if you are in Manhattan and like karaoke, try this place called Baby Grand at 161 lafayette street. It is a small place but the have such great energy. Everyone is just there to have fun. They have an array of songs and it is only $2 to sing a song. It gets pretty crowded but its all part of the experience. If you can or can’t sing, it really doesn’t matter. The crowd cheers for everyone. Hit a high note and you will surely here the crowd scream. The bartender there is friendly and efficient. He is the only one controlling everything! Thats how small the bar is. He bar tends then when a person ends their song he goes over and announces the next singer and starts their song. Service is great. Try this place.y and efficient.
